I WAS AFRAID
"How great are your works, O Lord! You have made all things in wisdom" (Ps. 104:24). Nowhere else, in this world does God's wisdom and omnipotence manifest so obviously as in creation! "Oh Lord, I heard your voice and was afraid!" (Habakkuk 3:2). Watching, O Lord, Your works, it was as if You were talking to me. And I was afraid...!
We can't articulate the miracle of creation. What we can do, is just to touch upon it. And this is what we try to do in the present book.

2. "And the dry land appeared"
(pg. 27-28)
Moses met God at the peak of Mt. Sinai in person, and stayed with him for a total of 80 days (Ex. 24:18, 34:28). During this period God revealed to Moses in detail how He created the world and Moses wrote it down, otherwise what he writes is inexplicable.
"And the waters below the heavens were gathered into one place, and the dry land appeared" (Gen 1:9).
It does not say "the earth appeared" but "the dry land appeared". And it does not say "it became dry land" but "the dry land appeared".
St Basil: "God called the dry land earth and not the earth dry land. Dry land is not something that the earth acquired afterwards but it was dry from the beginning" (P.G. 29:92).
But the whole earth was swimming in water. It should have become mud to a great depth. And for this mud to dry, requires time, and especially the sun’s warm rays. Nevertheless, when the water retreated "the dry land appeared".
As a reminder: The water, until it gathered at the sea, was solid, stable. It stood on the surface of the earth like a wooden board, without sinking into the earth to form mud, that is why the ground remained dry and when the water receded straight away "dry land appeared".
And even if the ground had been covered in mud, deep into the earth, for God this would not be a "problem". Instantaneously, in a matter of seconds, He would do away with the mud and the earth would become dry.
What happened in the Red Sea? "The waters divided" (Ex.14.21).
And the seabed became dry spontaneously, without a trace of dampness, "and made the sea dry land" (Ex. 14:21).
For the Almighty God all are possible, otherwise what kind of God would he be?
