They are special prayers in the name of Christ in which the clergy call on the name of the All-Mighty Lord. These prayers are a direct “assault” on the devil. Thus, it’s not a mere prayer but something superior. The devil cannot stand such prayers. (...) A priest friend of mine mentioned to me: He read the exorcism of Saint Basil the Great to a possessed woman. As he was walking home at night, the devil threw stones at him. The stones fell around him like rain but no stone hit him. At midnight his home started shaking, the plates and the glasses in his kitchen flew in the air and hit the walls and broke into pieces. Even the wardrobes of the house opened until the priest said “Holy God” and everything stopped.
   Finally, exorcisms ought to be read only by priests otherwise they can be extremely dangerous. Mrs. A.K. told me that as she was sitting in her living room, she started to read the exorcisms; suddenly the crystal plate that was on the table rose, crashed into the wall and turned into dust, making a loud noise. The devil got his chance and he attacked her. He could have hit her on the head with the plate or done something worse but he did not, thanks to the invisible power of our Lord.
