APOSTLE ANDREW: HIS LIFE AND HIS MIRACLES
(...) Why did Jesus place Peter as head of the Twelve and not Andrew the First Called? (...). What temptations, what persecutions, what dangers did Andrew suffer for the sake of Christ? And how did he die for Christ?
We will read about all these in this book. May he give us strength in the name of the Lord.

EPILOGUE
EPILOGUE
It is said, "When you are with Christ, everything in your life will be right." And Andrew was with Christ, and we saw what he achieved...!
Christ does not promise us a glorious earthly life; or that He will take away our cross. On the contrary, He demands that we take up our cross and follow Him (Mk. 8:34) because Heaven is for those who bear their cross on earth.
John the Baptist was full of the Holy Spirit from his mother's womb (Lk. 1:15). He lived on locusts and wild honey (Mt. 3:4). The locusts were bitter and the honey was sour! This was his daily food! "A man like John was never born of a mother", said Jesus of John (Mt. 11:11).
This perfect man was locked up in the dark and filthy cellar of a prison! His captors cut off his head (Mk. 6:17,28). And now in Heaven he is glorified even more!
"You gave blood and inhered heavens (...). Indeed, transaction was good", says our Church for the Holy Martyrs (Paracletic. Sound 1st. Thursday vespers. Aposticha.). And Andrew, through his labours, his imprisonments, his beatings, his crucifixion, enjoys in Heaven and throughout the ages such good things "that eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor man ever conceived" (1 Cor. 2:9).
Any believer who takes up his own personal cross on earth will enjoy the inexpressible and unending pleasure of Heaven. "Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven." (Mt. 5:12). AMEN!
